What is more important – Clinical Precision or Clinical Certainty?
The aim of Assoc. Prof. Daniel Catchpoole’s research is to use the complexity of genomic data to capture individual differences, make patient-to-patient comparisons, and allow clinicians to use complex genomic data to make informed clinical decisions at the patient’s bedside.
According to Catchpoole, in the future, we will assist clinicians with determining the treatment regime that will give the most certain clinical response from individual patients. We will enable clinicians to visually interpret complex biological data. This would be done using a virtual workflow that enables comparison of existing and previous patient based on gene expression and gene variation data which are reflection of the biological basis of the patient and their disease.
